During my days in college I volunteered with a music program called SLAM! to teach music to students at TS King Middle School in Silver Lake, CA. I am a professional multi-instrumentalist living in Los Angeles, performing, teaching, and recording regularly on saxophone, flute, clarinet, and trumpet.  I graduated from Oberlin Conservatory in 2011 with a Bachelor of Music in Saxophone Performance.  Since graduating from Oberlin, I have had the chance to travel and perform around the country and world with many fantastic musicians in a variety of genres.  I specialize in jazz, but have classical training and experience in a wide varieties of music from salsa to funk. My teaching style has a balanced mixture of work and play. The work comes first and is always the forefront of each session. This will include warming up with long tone exercises, scales for balance and technique, sight reading and ear training. The play part means taking a break from the instrument, listening and discussing everything that we hear. Collaboration has been a cornerstone of my musical adventure, featuring esteemed artists like Cous, Grace De Vine, Lauren Hifrauf, Dandu, Diego Frenkel, Venus Cruz, Willie Green, Greg Tanner Harris, and Verena Fuentes. In a remarkably short period since its inception in 2020, my current project, "People in Between," has graced esteemed platforms like The Denver Post Underground Music Showcase, the Larimer Block Party (now Project PBR), and had the honor of opening for Grammy-nominated artist Emily Hale.
