I began teaching in the music performance/ production field in 2010, while away at Morgan State University in Baltimore Maryland. I started teaching production to middle school students first, using my laptop, audio interface, and midi keyboard. What surprised me the most was that the students wanted to play the keyboard more than record their voices, so with that being the case, my journey as a piano teacher began. At a first lesson I try to find out what these needs snd wants are snd discuss the various ways of obtaining these goals. If their goals are not reasonable I will discuss this but I will never destroy their hopes. I once had a six year old student who after one lesson wanted her daughter to compete in this world competition. I thought to myself she couldnt never as l after one lesson and the deadline for the competition was in three months, but I did let her know with time and practice such a goal could be possible. As far as books go, I prefer the Hal Leonard method, especially for beginner musicians. I combine visual, audio and kinesthetic learning methods to tailor to anyone's needs. I started playing piano since I was in age 4. I graduated from Soochow University in Taiwan with my bachelor degree and Peabody Conservatory with a master degree and Graduate Performance Diploma. During the past two years, I got full assistantship in Accompanying at Peabody. I was grateful for having chances to perform recitals (solo chamber) in many different halls both in Taiwan and USA. Also I do shows of my own usually on weekend evenings and nights so would need that availability and my only other conflicting time would be Sunday mornings for church mass I cantor occasionally at masses and Saturday mornings every now and then usually around holidays there are pancake breakfasts, Committee meetings,festivals events, and fish fries that I provide a performance as entertainment for.
