Instruments: Drums
Every person is different. It's the most interesting and important aspect of learning an instrument. What you sound like on your instrument is completely unique to you. For this reason, I don't believe any one curriculum, class, course or YouTube tutorial will work best for everyone. Of course, all of those things will play a role in a student's development. However, I believe working with a student means understanding their goals, even if they themselves are unsure, as well as guiding them through the traditional and professional aspects of drumming. Instruments: Voice
As a recent graduate, I am still pretty new at this! However, I am incredibly motivated and confident that you will benefit greatly from the skills I have to offer. My educational experience includes; volunteer work at Eisenhower Middle School in Manhattan, KS; observation of Buhler High School's choral department; private voice lessons with two college age males at K-State; and a current position as a para at Lawrence High School. Instruments: Piano Voice Music
My voice and piano studio was established in the summer of 2018 with the desire to provide quality piano and musical theatre coaching/training to the Kansas City area. Growing up, musical theatre and piano lessons were an essential outlet for me as I explored the world around me and within me. I teach because of my desire to share the life-changing experiences the performing arts has to offer with the next generation of performers. Read More

For beginning students on Piano, I like to start with Alfred's Basic Piano Books. For clarinet: H. Klose. For Viola and Violin:Suzuki. There is a small amount of leewayI allot for those students who are exemptional. These booksoffer easy ways for begining students to learn the rudiments and mechanics of their particular instrument.Once progression is being made in the development of rudiments and mechanics, I start to incorporate solo works to spice up the learning experience. Televised broadcasts of my performances include the Fox4 Morning Show, GEB America, and KCPT'S Arts Upload. Radio broadcasts include Ozark Public Radio KSMU, Kansas Public Radio KANU, and Tulsa Public Radio KWTU. In 2008, I won the Oral Roberts University 20th Century Music Competition with Joan Tower's Platinum Spirals. Winning that competition sparked my interest in discovering and performing New Music. Soon after, I premiered works for violin and piano by the Las Angeles based composer Joshua Peterson. Read More
Instruments: Piano Flute Piccolo
My main priority while teaching is to encourage and uplift my students. I never want to tear any of them down. To me, nothing is more rewarding than seeing your students face light up when they nail what they have been practicing. Each student will progress at their own pace and that is perfectly okay. I want each student to set a goal and we will work hard until that goal is accomplished. Read More
Instruments: Piano Saxophone Clarinet Oboe English Horn
For piano students, I like to use the Alfred method books with supplemented music that peeks their interest. I like these books because they have several series depending on the age of the student and their interests such as music theory and broadway hits.-For woodwind students, I like to work for a few weeks out of their band books so I can assess their strengths and weaknesses. From there I will assign the appropriate method book; typically from the Rubank series. Read More
