I teach each student different. Depending on the students level, pace , knowledge, strength, abilities , determination and goals. All students will have a understanding of scales, rhythm, chords and progressions . Each one of these will breakdown to their own sub-groups. With them expanding as the student progresses . I start beginners with the drum rudiments and chart reading. This gets them able to move their hands and feet for better coordination. After they have better coordination I introduce ear training which is playing along to their favorite songs. This teaches the student how toplay with a band.
