I have been singing ever since I can remember and started taking lessons at the age of 7. My vocal studies brought me to complete my Masters degree in Vocal Performance at UNCG. Though the focus of my degree was Opera, I am practiced in many different genres of music. My classical education has given me a thorough understanding of the vocal instrument and allowed me to healthily, comfortably, and with ease be able to branch out into a variety of different genres. This means in addition to talking about technique, we will discuss theory and history related to the instrument and repertoire (depending on level of the student) as well as healthy and productive practice habits. I will help students to set realistic weekly goals so each student is improving consistently and feeling satisfied with his/her accomplishments each week. Read More

Hi everyone! I have been involved in performing and recording music my entire life, primarily as drummer and percussionist, but also as composer/ songwriter/ multi-instrumentalist. After eighteen years as director of the Enrichment Center Percussion Ensemble, I am devoting myself full time to music creation and private music instruction. While I have extensive experience teaching music to individuals with disabilities, and won awards for my success in doing so, I have taught many others along the way, from children to adults. As a teacher, I am always wanting to see my students enjoy what is happening in the music. I have wide spectrum of students that I have taught. Some have wanted to play an instrument casually and others wanted to go into the performance route. I am flexible when it comes to my teaching. If a student wants a more serious lesson setting, I can give that to them. If a student is feeling overwhelmed by the lesson load, I can change that as well. Read More
