Instruments: Voice
The foundation of any good technique is the most important aspect of maintaining that technique in a healthy way; similar to a dancer practicing at the bar each day, I encourage my students to internalize the foundational warm-ups first, upon which we'll build the rest of the vocal practice. Students are also encouraged to go at their own pace, and bring in any material that inspires them - the best singing is done when it's enjoyable! Read More

As an instructor, I take pleasure in teaching students of all ages and skill levels. Each student is approached individually with personalized attention based on their abilities and needs. My approach emphasizes intuitive learning while also incorporating technical analysis for a well-rounded education. For those just beginning with drums, I like to start by introducing basic sounds and specific exercises to build a strong foundation. As their skills develop, I gradually introduce more intricate patterns and variations, helping them transition between patterns and create drumming arrangements. Read More
Instruments: Trumpet
For all beginning students, I like to start out with buzzing exercises and embouchure technique. This is the most fundamental part of brass playing. Having a strong foundation in creating a sound consistently and efficiently makes learning everything else about brass playing infinitely easier. For this, I use the Arban method book and the "Buzzing Book" by James Thompson. Once these fundamentals start to become comfortable, I like to introduce some simple songs to apply the new techniques to. Read More

I started playing drums at age 11. My father played trombone in the NY Philharmonic, so I was fortunate to study with the renowned Elden "Buster" Bailey. After high schoolI attended the Juilliard School. Later I began teaching at a couple local music stores. That is when I discovered my love for teaching. It's very rewarding to see a student develope into a fine drummer and musician. Read More

I am trying to speak very slow and I have very much patience when I am teaching because one of my teachers said to me; "You need a lot of patience to be teacher". Read More

I've actually written and produced my own music theory book that was in all Borders stores before they closed down. I've learned a few methods and I try to incorporate them all unless the student or parents wants something specific. My method is a method where I can teach 1 thing countless ways. I love my students to learn theory because it is a very important backbone to music. Some people can play instruments without ever really kwoing what they are playing or understand the theory behind it, and I think it holds them back from truely being creative and understanding of music. With my methods students will be able to play from any genre, any book, and hopefully will be able to create their own music. Read More
