I have been playing the clarinet for 12 years and have been teaching for over 8 years. During my undergraduate degree at Indiana University, I received a rigorous, well-rounded, and enjoyable education that included weekly private lessons, studio class, and masterclasses. Courses covered everything from Music Theory, Music History, and Aural Skills to Clarinet Pedagogy, the Beethoven Symphonies, and Postural Alignment for the Musician. I am an experienced classically trained Pianist who has been playing since the 3rd grade. I enjoy all styles of music and love sharing that enjoyment with my students. I have certification from the State of Missouri that I am proficient in educating beginning Piano students and have continued to expand my knowledge through my participation with local musicians’ groups.   Typically, students have music they are working on for their band class. I help students overcome any difficulties they have with this music and move on to more challenging material. If the student has no material, I typically use the Essential Elements book for beginning and intermediate students, and Rochut, Arbans, and other method books and solos for advanced students.
