My teaching experience dates back to my college days. I taught privately while attending Stetson University. There I helped develop secondary minors on developing their piano skills or to tutor those needing help in class piano. In 2012 I was offered a full Scholarship and assistantship to Tulane University where I taught piano minors. Primarily worked on standard classical repertoire, sightreading, technique, and theory. In 2014 I was offered a full Scholarship and assistantship to The University of Kansas. Read More

Some highlights of my teaching career include working with A Gift for Music to give Title 1 schools access to the fine arts, being a cabin counselor and cello instructor for young musicians at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, and providing private lessons at The Orlando School of Music. All these experiences created a burning desire for higher fine arts education, culminating in my part in the co-creation of the Central Florida Cello Association, an organization which provides the UCF cello studio with multiple masterclasses a year given by world class artists and acclaimed educators. The most important part of teaching, for me, is to see my students developing a love for music. Each student is different and will show their skills/talents in different ways and at different paces. I am patient to let students grow in their own way while also challenging them to be the best they can be. I love to laugh with my students and develop a rapport with them that makes them feel comfortable in the lesson environment. Read More

Setting up goals to students at the beginning is a way to keep them motivated during lessons, by breaking down their goals into smaller pieces, It becomes more achievable for the students, I follow up a lesson plan depending on the students knowledge and level, everybody is different and for that I always incorporate lessons that goes with the kind of music they inspire yo play, I will bring composition activities, ear training activities and music theory activities too, there's so much to cover but these lessons are important because they will bring confidence and ability to make their interpretations when students want to learn a song, Read More

Im currently a worship director for a church in the Leesburg area where I work with people of all ages. Ive played and sung in a band since I was in high school and I love teaching several different styles and techniques. Read More

Every student starts or resumes classes at different levels. My job is to recognize that level and proceed accordingly. I like my students to be able to learn and progress at the rate they can or want to. Letting students let you know what they want to learn and at what pace, helps the student as well as the teacher in that progress. I like to tell my students that they will not only be a good player, but know exactly what they are doing. Read More

For piano I prefer Faber Piano Adventures and have different books I would recommend starting with depending on the students age and experience. For guitar and ukulele I prefer using the Hal Leonard method books. I often supplement these method books with outside sources and pieces as is appropriate for the student. For singing students, I have a wide variety of books and resources depending on the musical style. I come from a classical voice background, so when students are middle school age and older (sometimes earlier) we begin learning Italian Art songs in addition to musical theater pieces and English folk songs.
