For the more advanced students, I introduce the fundamentals of playing jazz piano as well. I have my voice students sing through repertoire in the styles of their choice in order to have a better understanding of how their unique voice functions. For children I tend to start with posture, positioning of the hands, rounded fingers and finger notation.
