I play musical games and analogies to assist with the memorization of finger numbers, note names, and finger scales.  My philosophy is to ask why, investigate what interests the student to learn music in the first place. Nine times out of ten it is a short-lived pipe dream, when the realization of consistent practice, sacrifice, and hard work equals results is reality. I then utilize lessons plans or books that I have used, accordingly. I've appeared in performance with Eyvind Kang, Vinny Golia, Bill Frisell, Steve Vai, and Dr. Nancy Ambrose King (under the direction of Maestro Jeffrey Kahane). As a soloist I've performed Bachs Concerto for Oboe and Violin with violinist Rachel Iba and the CalArts Ensemble, and won second prize in the Riverside Philharmonics 2018 Concerto Competition with my performance of Vaughan Williams Oboe Concerto.
