One of the most important factors in determining a teacher's legitimacy is their professional teaching experience. I can confidently say that along with my extensive training, education, and music industry credentials, I have 6 years of professional experience teaching every possible age, skill, and instrument combination. My most recent job involved teaching up to 35 students a week on beginner-advanced piano, vocals, guitar, drums, songwriting, and bass. Many of my students have been with me since I started there two and a half years ago. Read More

I am motivated to keep students constantly engaged and passionate about their instrument! As a multi-instrumentalist I always play different instruments with students to give them a sense of playing in a group, which is what music should be all about! I also do my best to acknowledge the students strengths and weaknesses and take some time aside in class to speak to them about them. I believe it is important to have positive feedback but also to recognizes areas in which students can improve. Read More

I'm a passionate and motivated instructor that loves to share the passion for music. I was always taught having fun and motivation to learn more and that's the only way I teach. In March 2015 I graduated from Los Angeles College of Music in Drums Performance and in August 2015 I got my artist visa for the U.S. due to my experience as a performer and my current projects in Los Angeles. I quiz them by asking them to identify the note that I am playing. It takes only a minute. When each one is secure, I add more on, and I do this over the course of several weeks. The G and A, in between the three black keys. Then the D, in between the two black keys. Finally, the E and B, to the right of the group of two and three black keys respectively. Read More

I set fun goals and I challenge each student every step of the way to help them reach them. I point out their strengths yet I keep a close eye on their weaknesses and work with them to eliminate any all bad habits in playing instruments. After a few weeks I quiz them and reward them for overcoming any obstacles. I really like to have my students play in front of friends and family after around 3 months of studying. Read More

For my students, I like to see what type of music they are interested in and listen to a few of their favorite songs. From there we can learn chords (guitar, piano) and melodies for vocal lines. We could go the route of learning scales and theory, but since I didn't grow up learning that way, I'd prefer to go the more modern way by learning strumming patterns, chords, inversions, melodies and harmonies, and teach dynamics to make a song come together. Teaching is my passion. I started playing the violin at the age of 6 years old. Music gave me confidence in school and in my life. When I was in elementary school I found out that reading comprehension was difficult for me and so I had to get tutoring. I was very strong in music and that boosted my confidence in school. I have a lot of patience because of this but I also have high standards because I know what my students are capable of doing. Read More

What advice do you have about practicing effectively?
Practice sloooowwwllyyy. Don't rush. Your brain will learn way faster and you need less tim to get it right. Focus on setting up a regular practice plan over a couple one-session plan. Also the key to practising effectively is to find material that you WANT to work on. And if there is material that has to be done (like scales and sorts) try to find pieces that use the type of exercises creatively. Our brain plays tricks on us, we want to be shown that what we practice is not in vain and will be used.

When did you decide to become a professional musician? Was it a gradual decision or was there a defining moment for you?
I always had a strong drive in music. But I haven't really thought about picking it up as a career. When I was about 14 years old, I found an artist named "Hiromi", who changed my life forever. She is a Japanese Jazz pianist, with a very special melodic style. She inspired me so much, that I had to look up where she learned her craft. Seeing that she went to College at Berklee College of Music, it instantly became my goal to get accepted there. So my journey began. I haven't regretted that decision.

If you have a Music Degree, what is it in (Performance, Education, Musicology, Theory, Composition, etc) and why did you choose that degree?
I have a Bachelor of Music Degree in Jazz piano performance. I chose that degree because I was really interested in Jazz and the music that has been influenced by this style. So it was kind of natural for me to pick it. Also, I am very interested in Rnb, Soul Music which is heavily influenced by jazz. Jazz is something beautiful. You hear it everywhere, but not many can pinpoint exactly what it is. It can sound very subtle and easy, or it can sound harsh and loud. Jazz is art. It conveys feelings you have in the moment. For me, it is the ultimate representation of music, the ultimate representation of oneself.

What musical accomplishments are you most proud of?
Being able to travel the world through music. Playing at the Emmy Awards 2019.

When will I start to see results?
You will absolutely learn something on the first day. Results come with continuous practice.

Did you have a teacher that inspired you to go into music? How did they inspire you?
Yes I did. I was lucky, that my mom saw my interest in music and immediately set up a lesson with my first teacher and mentor, up to this day. He had a feel for my musical taste, always presenting me with great music that I really wanted to learn to play. He showed me that hard work will pay off. Through him, I was introduced to my first keyboard competitions. And I won. A good teacher will want to see their students thrive. He'll want to give it his/her all to push the student as far as they can.

Why did you choose your primary instrument?
It was love at first sight. I had a small toy keyboard at home on which I played melodies t the age of 3. Since then I always wanted to learn the instrument. I was mesmerised every time I heard someone play.

How do I know if my child is ready to start lessons?
If the child shows signs of musicality and interest in a particular instrument or music in general, it is never too early. A great teacher will see that and find the best suited material for the young one. It is also very important that the teacher can work with kids. Not everyone want or can do the job. You have to be playful and be able to convey your message in a kid friendly way. That alone is a challenging task not many can overcome. Try to find the right teacher for the job, set up a meeting to see if they get along, the rest will show.
