I have taught for many music schools (both public and private).  I have also owned my owe school of arts, teaching all instruments, putting together young groups.  One group in particular called: "ARCTIC THUNDER" was a group of 14 children from 8 - 14 yrs old.  They performed at Walt Disney (Magic Music Days), and opened for many known recording artist.  You can see a video of them recording by searching for Kayla Arctic Thunder on Youtube. Some have creativity to compose music and other are good at understanding what composers idea and perform music beautifully. Therefore I take different approach to each student. I discuss about their goal and set the goal with together with students. I explain what is the best way to achieve the goal. My teaching experience really started With the DC Youth Orchestra Program as a cellist. Assisting the cello teaches with summer sessions. I also assisted at NC A T State University Orchestra. I mentored student teachers with string ensemble. Currently, I am Assistant to the Minister of Music at The Greater First Baptist Church of Washington DC. There my duties vary, from preparing the choir (teaching), playing piano and pipe organ; assist with the selecting of music for morning service; staging musicial presentations. Read More

I can help my students improve technique for any genres of music they want with a focus on building a solid and healthy technique. I then started my own studio while working towards my masters degree in New York. I teach at the Larchmont Music Academy, and was very involved with the outreach program at Manhattan School of Music. Through this program, I was able to teach in a variety of different subprograms - giving lectures about the history of jazz music to elderly people as well as teaching at numerous public middle schools' after-school music programs.
