After an initial assessment of knowledge and skill, I began tailoring lessons for each student individually depending on their skill level. For brass instrumental students, I generally use the Rubank Method books, focusing on care of the instrument and basic fundamentals. For piano students I use a variety of different method books and am not tied down to any one series. We will also work on scales and the Hannon series For vocal students, I use a series of vocalises, scales and other exercises to strengthen the voice. We will then work on repetroire focusing on what the student would sing at a recital performance. Read More

My teaching style is to MAKE IT FUN. No punishment. I encourage my students to play or sing whatever they want with my help for the structure. For example: I'm teaching a student to date music theory. At one point 10 years ago when I was teaching a student theory, she completely shut down and wanted no longer to take piano lessons because of the difficulty of it. I was born in Cuba and began my musical studies at the age of 7 in vocational schools of music. I studied for 15 years in the specialties of piano, voice and music theory. For many years, I dedicated myself to singing and playing piano in various musical groups in Cuba, while studying piano and voice at the University and taking my degree in Musicology.
