I have been teaching since my years in high school. I found that my own study of the piano, at that time, was greatly enchanced by teaching students younger than myself. My most recent students, beginners in non-music college programs have enjoyed the study, because I tuned myself to the place that each one is in when they arrive for their first series of lessons. The results for the students have been gratifying for me as their teacher. Read More
Instruments: Piano Keyboard
Understanding a style of a musical composition is always an important part of my teaching process. There are three elements of how I see a complex musician: emotional reaction to music, intelligent understanding of a musical composition, and the technical ability playing the piece. I always project a long-term and a short-term plans with my students. I believe only mutual interest and collaborate engagement would bring us to the goal. Read More

I am a very passionate instructor who will help you or your child with any area of music you are looking to improve upon. I am a firm believer that the student steers the lesson; and why do music if you don't enjoy it? I am 23 years old and working on my bachelor's in music education. I am currently the Deering Middle School chorus and digital music temp teacher in Rhode Island as well as an avid voice and instrumental private instructor. Read More

My teaching style is all about steady, consistent progress. It is very valuable to dedicate even the smallest amount of time each day to practice. I like to provide my students a range of exercises to reinforce material that's already been learned, familiarize themselves with new concepts, and then a little bit extra if they feel inspired to branch out. I aim, also, to share my enthusiasm about music with my students. Read More
Instruments: Piano Trombone
Upon first meeting me students I like to do an informal lesson to evaluate where they are in terms of technique on their instrument, knowledge of music fundamentals (harmony, theory and rhythm). At the beginning of each lesson I believe it's important to talk about what each student has been able to work on from the lesson before and each lesson ending in goals we would like to accomplish for the next meeting. I try to tailor my lessons almost like a Doctor sees a patient. Every student is different, I do think it is important to learn to read music. I love music theory and I emphasize learning to love practicing technique. With my beginner piano students I generally use a Hal Leonard series book, but supplement it with a book of piano exercises. With my guitar students it depends on their age and experience, I use a Hal Leonard method book for youngsters and then begin teaching them songs they identify that they really want to learn.
