Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. It's a good comprehensive approach for an older person. Then the same applies to music literature books and recitals. For voice I follow the same general rules for younger singers and adults. I use vocal exercises appropriate to their level and age. We work on breathing and proper support for the voice, as well as vocal health.
