I have been teaching piano for the past three years and absolutely love working with students of all ages and levels. For beginning students, I tend to use the Faber Primer level course which includes a lesson book, theory book, performance book, and technique book. This set, along with supplemental material will provide your student with the backbone in music education they need to perform well in any direction they wish to take their private piano studies. For older beginning students, I enjoy using the Alfred adult piano series. I am a piano instructor who has been involved in the teaching profession for all of my adult life. I graduated from the Berklee College of Music in 1970 earning a Bachelor of Music Degree in Composition, Cum Laude. I also make it a goal for the student to learn one major classical piece throughout the course of instruction: "Fur Elise" by Beethoven, or "Moonlight Sonata: 1st Movement" by Beethoven.
