For those students who are children and are just starting out, I'll have them work through a lesson book that I find fit for them so they can grasp the fundamentals. Once they establish the fundamentals, I'll assign them solo repertoire so they can begin learning their own pieces. For older students, I'll find out what they are interested in learning and go from there. I have teaching experience since I started working on my BA in piano. I have taught adults as well as children of all levels. I have taught in music schools as well as in my private studio. My students are encouraged to practice because they love playing the piano not because they have to! I use instructional books as well as fun games to teach important concepts. I love to see my students accomplish their goals. Therefore I always assign a piece easily within their reach. However, I believe it is important to have higher goals. In keeping with that, once the student is at an appropriate level, I assign a piece that will take a bit more work to master. Ever since a child, I've loved learning, music and sharing my passions! Through grade school I grew into the role of a leader and a musical/visual artist. In 2018 I graduated from Central Washington University with a Bachelors in K-12 Music Education with a minor in Spanish. I focus on effective practice techniques. My students learn the skills of practice routine that build measurable and gratifying progress from week to week.
