At the encouragement of my piano teacher, I started teaching lessons at age 16. I soon realized that I loved helping others learn and enjoy music. I have continued my development as a teacher through workshops and teacher training. The feedback I get from parents and students has helped me to progress as well. I started taking piano lessons at the age of 5. As a I continued to take piano lessons, I eventually in middle school began to study with a professor from Julliard until entering the university. I graduated from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University with a Bachelors of Music degree in piano performance. However, I started teaching right away and have enjoyed teaching for over 40 years. Having graduated from Oberlin College, studied at Berklee College of Music, toured as a keyboardist on a national hip hop tour, pursued a Kpop career in Seoul, produced and conceived of a music film in Cape Town, and currently through my teaching/composing/producing work here in New York City, I believe that my rich and diverse set of musical experiences have shaped a very hopeful and motivated musical perspective and sensibility, one which I hope to share.
