I had so much fun working with the elementary school kids that I decided to build a studio up of my own and ever since i have been working with a number of students ages ranging from 4-80. My students are individually pushed to reach goals that they make for themselves at the start of lessons no matter what that goal might be and I love being able to make a fun journey to that goal. My teaching experience includes working as Skills Instructor at a day program for adults with disabilities. There, I taught dance classes and sing alongs, meditation groups, cooking groups general life skills. I have also lead music in nursing homes for patients with dementia/Alzheimers. I have traveled throughout high school and college, along the east coast, to perform with choirs at churches, schools, and public events. For young beginner students, I use either Faber and Faber's Piano Adventures or Bastien Piano Basics. I also supplement these methods with level-appropriate materials from my private library. For adult students, lessons are tailored to meet the student's interests and purpose. Lesson times are learning times, but I try to make the process fun, with time for creativity and music games.
