I work each week to plan out how best to convey the information needed, but if things need to change in the lesson, I adapt to provide what is needed for the student to still grow. I normally use the Standard of Excellence method books for most of my students; however, I am open minded to adjusting to each individual student's musical needs, whether it be Jazz, Classical, or whatever style music the student is focusing on. For Drummers, I prefer the Haskell Harr Method, or the Buddy Rich Method Book, as well as the Breeze Easy Method Book. For piano instruction, I prefer the Faber Piano Method Books, as they are tailored to the students' individual needs. Read More

The most rewarding experiences have been watching my students develop a passion for their instrument and cultivate their own voice as a musician. By reinforcing fundamentals as well giving as a thorough, detailed explanation of the hardware and tendencies of the saxophone itself, each week I encourage the student to take the primary role in their progression.
