Hi! My name is Nish M. I am an improvising musician, specializing in Woodwinds (primarily the Saxophone and Clarinet), Composing/Arranging/Producing/Recording. I attended the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2010 where I studied Jazz Performance. I stayed in Sydney until 2020, where I did a lot of work as a session musician, (The Voice, Solange Knowles, Yolanda Be Cool, ++...) Currently, my teaching experience involves substituting for a drum class in one of the New York City boroughs, and assisting musicians or other campers when needed at Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts when I worked there as a Music Staff Intern. I have worked with multiple teachers throughout my musical journey and experience, and I have since picked up the teaching styles and methods that they taught me. From there I follow with fundamentals using Rubank Elementary Method on their respective instrument. for someone who already has an understanding of their musical goals I accommodate my lesson plans based on their current state along with adding exercises that will help ease any difficulties they may be having. I mix in ear-training with all of my students through different ways of connecting them to the music.
