I've been in the teaching field for the past couple years through small groups and ensembles, as well as one on one private lessons. I've helped both band and choir directors with their ensembles and selected students, mostly marching band camps and OMEA Solo and Ensemble participants. I have been teaching private lessons part time for almost a year. In that short time, my studio has grown to include seven students of varying skill levels. I believe that regular practice is important, and that practicing should be fun. I try to combine classical and modern music when teaching, as both are important to the development of a well rounded musician. Instruments: Violin Saxophone Music

I start all students with getting a firm grasps of the basics of tone production and air support. I do this through long tone exercises as well as scale work to start learning more notes on the instrument. I focus on slowing incorporating more dynamics, articulation, and time signatures from there. I then start to tailor instruction to goals the student has, whether that be for a school ensemble, a solo performance, or other musical goal such has playing in a gigging band. Read More

With my primary insturment being flute, I began teaching private lessons in 2008 while I was still in high school. I taught the younger flute students in the Worthington School Distrct. When I started college, I continued to teach flute lessons and I then began teach saxophone lessons as well.
