I am an adjunct faculty member at NYU, teaching saxophone, clarinet, and keyboard, and music theory. I am a saxophone player, composer, and educator based in upper Manhattan. I grew up in Massachusetts, where I attended the New England Conservatory Preparatory School, and later went to the University of Manitoba on a full scholarship to study with Jon Gordon. After finishing my undergraduate degree, I toured across Canada with several bands, and then moved to New York to continue my professional career. I like to have a balance of exercises that are centered around developing technical facility and developing the ears of the students. Each student is assessed on what they wish to learn and their own capabilities. A passionate student is a happy student, so I take special care to ensure that each student develops at their own pace. I like to encourage students to set goals for themselves to get an idea of where they think they are musically, and help them to tailor these goals into small and accomplish tasks.
