While pursuing my studies, I took various pedagogical classes such as Woodwind methods, and Pedagogy for Musicians, both of which I received A+'s in for my final grade. I am a 21 year old musical performer, educator, and composer residing in New Smyrna Beach. I started playing the Flute when I was 11 and the Saxophone when I was 12. After only a few months of playing both instruments I knew I wanted to study and teach music for a living, so in high school I got involved in multiple music competitions, out-of-school performances, and other extracurriculars. After the past few years of intense practicing and studying in college, Ive had the privilege of playing the Flute in performances with the Orlando Symphony Orchestra, performing Jazz on Saxophone at the Orlando Museum of Art, and frequently attending recording sessions with some of the top musicians in Central Florida. Over the years, I've learned that every single student learns differently in addition to going at their own pace. Anyone at any age CAN learn music! I've found that presenting multiple solutions to varying problems gives the students the best chance to succeed and it's not that someone cannot learn, they just haven't been presented with an explanation they can understand and clicks for them.
