In the first lesson, I assess the student's current ability and also discuss the student's personal goals and interests in music. Based on this information, I create a daily fundamentals routine for the student to use to improve the basic building blocks of playing a musical instrument. I also allow students to bring in music that interests them from solo material and pieces of music from band class. I'm still playing and composing in Maryland, and am working with D.C's top wedding /show band 'Amaretto' (Washinton's Best Musicians agency, David Fletcher). Having returned from being back in Canada the past 3 years composing and producing music, I'm excited to be back here and to be helping create music in the community I live in. In 2012 I started teaching students in their homes. I quickly learned the ins and outs of teaching and have never looked back. In the fall of 2013 I gained additional experience while teaching music to kids at Ideal Day Care center. At first I was unable to engage the students, but soon I was the star teacher at the day care center.
