I also incorporate reflective questions for students to get them thinking about the music in new ways (e.g., structurally, historically, philosophically, etc.). My philosophy in teaching is: "Everyone learns in a different way". I like to analyze and help the student to find the simplest and easiest way to approach a piece or music in general. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace.
