With this in mind, each person's lesson is subjective and progresses according to the student's learning style; a beginning 5 yr old student's lesson will look much different that a beginning 14 yr old student's lesson. I only had one student thus far in my teaching career but i can truly say that i taught him so much during our experience together. The best part about teaching a student, and i'm going to restate what i said earlier, is that both grow in the process. It only took me a year to teach that little kid how to play properly.
