I am a professional concert violinist and have been happily teaching violin for 11 years. I have my Master of Music degree in Violin Performance from University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance from Western Michigan University. During my student years I had the pleasure of serving as the concertmaster and assistant concert master of my university symphony orchestras, and was a paid member of the University of Oklahoma Graduate String Quartet, which served to showcase the music school in regular public concerts. Teacher interaction with hands-on at lessons: In order to help students understand the feeling of correct violin playing, I occasional assist them in such ways as guiding the bow, hands, and arms. Student interaction: I want every one of my students to be engaged and excited while learning the violin. My aim is to combine fun with learning. I started playing the violin at the age of 8 and now I have been playing it for 30 years. I started working with children when I turned 19 and to this day I have never stopped. I studied and worked at the same time, as well as playing in an orchestra, and I developed a strong work ethic. For students who are children, I have a vareity of teaching style opportunities including the Suzuki Method, Essential Elements, Janice Rhoda's Complete Techniques, and other teaching methods. All of my students recieve education in music theory, rhythm, aural skills (voice/ear lessons), performance techniques, sight reading, and of course intrument technique.
