I have even taught adults in their fifties and sixties who want to pick up their instrument after a long absence. I take great pride in being a teacher, and few things bring me more joy than seeing a student succeed or say "Oh, now I get it!" in a music lesson. Whether I'm preparing a student for a college audition, a recital, or even just to play "Mary Had a Little Lamb" for mom and dad, every student is important to me, and every lesson is tailored to each individual students' needs. My philosophy and wish go along with the idea of massification, in other words, to be able to increase progressively the programs’ coverage. And for the beneficiaries to be able to live the music, feel it and express it through smiles, ovations, hope, dialogue, and the making of a commitment to be better and to change their own world. And even, to be able to generate a social change through music, to change the community, to generate a substantial and progressive impact through music. 4- To be able to generate a significative learning through effective strategies and actions that keep up the excitement and desire to learn from students and adults. In the 1980s, I played electric guitar (classic rock) in a band called Purple Mountains, playing cover songs of the Rolling Stones (including their open tunings for the guitar). I also l played Bluegrass mandolin, fiddle and guitar on stage, since the 1980s, and continue to now, at Boba's Internet Café and PJ Dolan's Irish Pub/Grille, both in Tampa. Earlier on, I graduated with a BA from the City University of New York, where I took some music courses. Read More

First lesson I start by assessing what level the student is at and what goals they have with their music and develop a lesson plan from there. I focus first on fundamentals of sound and technique to build a foundation for the student then work on scales and repertoire to get them playing music. From there it is a focus on musicality and performance. A lesson plan for example may be working on solo repertoire by breaking down the piece by focusing on different elements that make the song; the scale, they rhythm, certain patterns by measure, techniques required, etc. Read More

For beginning students, I like to start from Essential elements, Suzuki 1, or Piano Adventures. Students will also likely have a theory workbook or worksheets that match the level of their current repertoire. Intermediate students, we will start using a program called smart music that plays the accompaniment for pieces that we are working on. This will really help develop a great internal sense of rhythm and help students recognize immediately when something needs correcting. Read More

I find that my teaching style is focused on harboring curiosity of music for the beginner student. It brings me joy to see a student go above and beyond because they research more to what I offer them on the page to help enrich their playing. I ask students what they most would like to work on or accomplish and help them set realistic goals with skill building exercises to practice. Read More

As I previously mentioned above,I show each student as much as they can pick up.I can show a student just about anything they want to learn, but its really about how much they practice at home that determines their ability. If the student practices a lot we move much quicker and it becomes more fun and challenging.Music is endless and you can never stop learning.they are proving more and more every day how music affects your brain. When you just listen to music, you use every part of your brain.Few things do that. When you play music you are using even more of your brain. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
