I started playing violin at the age of nine through my elementary schools string program. In addition to performing with the Discovery Middle School and Timber Creek High School orchestras, I participated every year in the all-county and all-state orchestras and served as associate concertmaster of the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra. I completed a double major in general music and engineering at Northwestern University in Chicago. Practice makes perfect. I ask students to practice as often as possible, no matter the skill level. I prefer students to start practice with scales and warm-up drills, then move on to composed pieces. Along with practice, I hope that students will not only play, but listen to their music, such as the Suzuki method. As we progress we will graduate to the Suzuki Method books Volume 1. For intermediate students, I will assess the skill level and work from there.
