I love working with younger students because it's important to remind them of the importance of exercising your vocal chords properly. I also discuss the importance of eating the right healthy foods to maintain a healthy voice and lifestyle. I often invite the students to my events to encourage them to continue to be disciplined and learn all they can while they're young. I keep the methods basic so the students can always remember a good foundation for maintaining a healthy voice. Read More

I've learn that the most important part of educating my students is to teach to their learning style and ability while giving them some strong encouragement and guidance. I have been giving voice lessons for the past 7 years starting in my undergrad years at Alabama State University. I believe it's really important for my students to feel encouraged and not overwhelmed. Though there is a time for challenging tasks, creating clearly defined goals before and after each lesson and practice session is key to maintaining that encouragement. I like to ease my students into more challenging material and larger work loads, rather than throwing so much on them at once that they don't know where to begin. Read More
