For all students, I begin with classical fundamentals such as body alignment, breath support, and resonance and moving to topics including diction, vocal health, interpretation, and stage presence. I will work with the student to find repertoire that will best fit their voice, help achieve their musical goals, and be aligned with what they enjoy musically. (Piano adventures, Alfred, Faber and Faber, ect) For piano we always do Theory , Technic, and go through a song book which will take you gradually through the levels and correspond the Theory and technique lessons. My teaching began in the late 1990's as professional musician in the United States Marine Corps teaching new Marine Musicians how to double & triple tongue and play minor scales as well as Greek Modes.I enjoyed the challenge of teaching someone a skill or technique. I normally start out with the Faber and Faber Piano Adventures methods books for the piano students. This includes a lesson book and a theory book. The lesson book will teach the student the physical skill of playing piano by presenting them with leveled songs to learn. The theory book will focus more on the mechanics of music and playing and require some written work. These two methods work very well together to give the student a comprehensive experience with the piano. Read More

In 2011, I graduated from Morehead State University with a Bachelors degree in Vocal Performance and in 2014, I graduated from the University of Louisville with a Masters degree in Vocal Performance.
