Each students is different and needs a tailored lesson plan and approach. I like getting to know my students musical interests first and from there we start building the lesson. For my piano students depending on the age we start working on familiarizing the student with the instrument and we also choose a book that is appropriate for age and interests. For some students I use Faber, Bastien or Alfred. Read More

Instruments: Voice

I have been singing and performing for over 10 years and have found so much joy and fulfillment through doing so. I have found that teaching is the best way to help others find that same kind of satisfaction and happiness in their lives. In 2013 I graduated with my masters degree in vocal performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Since then I have had the great fortune to perform on both the West and East Coasts as well as in Germany and Italy. Read More

Instruments: Voice

There are many methods in voice, but my favorite teaching method is Vaccai. Its a simple and thorough method that explores intervalic reading and understanding theory, as well as classical breath training. I also teach vocal improvisation with jazz standards and allow my students to research about other styles and genres that they are curious about. The most important thing is they keep a good vocal health practice that allows them to be versatile and creative. Singing is such a personal and meditative instrument that the more time you spend understanding your voice the more you will be able to achieve. Instruments: Piano Voice

I base my teaching style on the individual student and how they learn.  Some students learn more by rote, others learn more by oral and others learn more by understanding theory.  I always incorporate proper technique so that the student developes as quickly as possible. For those students who like working from a more traditional sense I work primarily with the John Thompsen and Bastien Piano Methods. Other students, especially students that start at an older age I work immediately by having them play familiar songs and melodies and as their technique improves providing them with more difficult music to play. Instruments: Piano Voice

Each student is different and that is the greatest part of this job. I always respect the student's opinion and choices. I am here to help and support so when it comes to new students, a good discussion with them is a small start to learn more about each other and what they want to get out of their lessons. Do not forget that this is YOUR lesson and I am here to support your goals by teaching you the tools. Read More

Instruments: Piano Voice Violin Viola Electric Violin

I have available for trial lessons are instruments (mostly violins one viola) to use! This will give the student a chance to really know if they want to play that particular instrument without having to go in renting blind. I also have a few names of rental places and would be more than happy to accompany a student for a fitting. I tend to use the Suzuki books as a base for my string lessons. Read More
