I have performed at Carnegie Hall in New York, overseas in the EU and Brazil, and performed in the US premier of "Waiting for the Barbarians" here in Austin. My teaching experience is primarily from instructing at a band camp for multiple summers. Working with beginner level middle school students, it was my job to help them choose songs to play, learn their individual parts, and help them rehearse as a band. Not only was it satisfying to see how quickly they improved through practice, but by the end of each session, the students seemed exponentially more motivated to pursue their musical ambitions. For very young piano/keyboard students, lessons go more smoothly if they know right hand and left hand, count to 10 and know ABC's. They learn to read music almost immediately, and I give them the tools to be able to pick up any piece of music and play it independently.
