In August of 2007 I started my first term of college at Castleton University located in Castleton, VT. There I became an established pianist all around Vermont in local churches, schools, bands and as an accompanist to my fellow students at Castleton University. I graduated in 2011 celebrating the completion with my parents and fellow students. I like to begin with getting a sense of where the student is in their musical development. Then, it's all about the basics! I address breathing, body alignment, relaxation/tension, and all of the aspects of singing through exercises tailor-made to address the student's individual and immediate needs. For most of my students, I will provide specific pieces that will help in their development and keep their interest. I enjoy the variety in ages as I believe my approach to teaching is one of building a strong musical foundation and I am skilled and flexible to teach these concepts to all ages.
