Im a very engaging and passionate teacher who comes from a long line of musicians and educators. In 2008 I received my undergraduate degree in music with a concentration in musical theater. I then took a year to work in the industry at several regional musical theater and opera houses domestically and internationally. I then went to Miami University for my graduate studies in classical voice. I have diverse performance career ranging in everything from professional one man cabaret shows to leading roles in opera. I have been a teacher since I was 17 when I began teaching for some after school programs. Since then I have taught many different aspects of music on many different instruments, but no matter what I am teaching, my approach is the same. My focus is 2-fold when I create a lesson plan: to cover the knowledge required to accomplish student's goals and to maintain the level of fun and enjoyment on the way there. Read More

There are often good lessons that go along with these pieces, and I pick pieces that are famous for good reason! For students of any level, it is useful to have a combination of repertoire that is more challenging, and pushes my students to see beyond their current skill level, as well as repertoire that allows them to enjoy the expression that is possible with their current skill level. There are 4 components to every lesson, and for me, every practice sessions as well: warm up exercises, technical exercises, repertoire, and play (aka performing the repertoire, improvising, writing music, etc). I've been teaching on and off for the last few years. I started teaching privately in my senior year of high school with a rather small number of students. I would help fellow students or neighbors with preparing for NYSSMA, auditions, and upcoming shows. I assisted in directing the annual summer musical at North Shore Day Camp as the head voice coach from 2011 - 2014. Currently, I teach voice and intermediate piano privately as well as work in the Levittown and Massapequa school districts as a substitute teacher for their music faculty. Read More

My goal is to promote healthy singing habits that last a lifetime. I'm very passionate about sharing my love of music with all the students that I teach. Every voice is unique and specific achievable long term and short term goals need to be set accordingly. I don't believe in forcing one style of music onto my students. There interest are very important and goals are set together. There's many different styles of repertoire that can yield similar results. Read More

Above all else, I believe that the learning process should be rewarding and fun! Setting incremental goals that can realistically be accomplished is important because developing skills of this type takes time and patience. I like students to work on both things that are their bread and butter while simultaneously working on more challenging material that will get students out of their comfort zone. I value having a positive personal and professional relationship with students, as lessons should feel like a safe space that students should WANT to come to! Read More
