I majored in musical theater in college at SUNY Fredonia, where I studied voice extensively. I also love singing country, jazz and everything in between. I started my teaching journey in college, teaching children at my community theater camp for the summers. I’ve had the opportunity to perform in NYC in off-Broadway as well as with choirs, performing at Lincoln Center and The Kennedy Center. However, the most important matter for me is the passion that I have for performance and I pass it to my students as I teach music. My teaching experiences stems back to my undergraduate career at the John J. Cali School of music. I began teaching and tutoring underclassmen in theory, piano and voice while also teaching dance classes in the community. After I graduated I continued teaching and gained an assistantship to continue voice lessons to undergraduate non-majors. I also was the assistant director for our musical theater revue. After I returned from my masters work I contued teaching as various private schools in the New Jersey area before being hired as an artist affiliate at Bucknell University in 2015. Read More

I teach both voice and guitar. As an instructor of voice I start with Breathing exercises, posture, and ear training. I take methods from "The Singing Book" by Maribeth Dayme Cynthia Vaughn. With children, I gage how well their grasping the fundamentals before learning songs. Once we've gotten their we move forward to learning about different techniques. Teaching is something I truly love. I love to see my students progress and succeed in the areas of music they choose. This is why I work hard to look for outlets for my students, if they so wish, to perform. I think that music is healing a way to express yourself and communicate with out ever speaking a word. I want to teach that to my students. They need to know that they can be who they truly are and still make a mark on the world. Read More

In my classes even exercises are fun, interesting and stimulating; they're not just some boring tasks, but rather something that the student is actively interested in practicing and learning. The worst thing that can happen in a teaching environment is that the student falls out of love with music. Unfortunately, I’ve seen this happen time and time again. Therefore I protect my students love for the art like a mother does a child.
