In 2002, I participated in San Francisco Opera Center Merola Opera Program for young singers and sang Musetta with Western Opera on tour. In 2006 I became a First Prize and Special Award winner in Rose Palmai-Tenser Vocal Competition and Prize Winner in Opera Index Competition in New York. In 2007 I was announced the Best Leading Female Singer in North East in Season 2006-2007 by Opera Online. The most memorable moments of my career include performing Aida with Teatro Massimo Palermo, Requiem Verdi on stage of Academy of Santa Cecilia in Vatican and in Kennedy Center, performing as a principal soloist with Bolshoi Opera Theatre in Moscow. For so many years I struggled yet, persevered like any other singer. I was raised on a core set of beliefs that singing is all about breath and tone along with a dozen or so buzzwords that led me to more questions than answers about my own voice. I am honest with a student about their body, I think the best way to sing is to know how all the pieces of your instrument work together to create healthy sound. I encourage my students to eat well and take care of themselves physically and emotionally. I also want my students to have fun by singing music that enspires them to be sincere with their emotions, singing for an audience can be scary but in a private lesson I encourage trying things out even if they seem silly. I was born and raised in the Bay Area and found my passion for music at a young age. Since then, I have been fortunate enough to grow as a musician and experience some of the most wonderful moments of my life on stage. I prefer to take on students who are considered "intermediate" or at least working toward the intermediate level and advance because I specialize in developing a singer's performance quality. It's important that the student has basic vocal technique training prior to training with me because they'll have a technical foundation and sense of confidence that will allow them to explore (or as I like to call it "play") more of their vocal capabilities. I began teaching informally to other musicians as part of my music practice, and found that I had a love of passing on what I've learned. I began teaching voice and beginning piano in 2019, and have kept it up ever since. I have taught pre-K children through adult professionals, with every age and skill level in between. In voice lessons I allow students to pick repertoire - you should learn what inspires you! - and help them identify techniques that can be used to develop their unique voice. Read More
