I believe EVERYONE has the ability to sing.  Some voices will go on to do big things, and some will help to build confidence in their everyday lives. I grew up with loving and compassionate teachers and family members.  It's my job as a human being to offer that same level of respect and compassion. I began teaching informally to other musicians as part of my music practice, and found that I had a love of passing on what I've learned. I began teaching voice and beginning piano in 2019, and have kept it up ever since. I have taught pre-K children through adult professionals, with every age and skill level in between. There is nothing more rewarding that sharing what I love most and helping fuel my student's passion for music. It's important to instill patience and an understanding of the process - changes won't happen overnight but rather over a period of time, and as long as there is progress is the right direction, that's all that matters. I am honest with a student about their body, I think the best way to sing is to know how all the pieces of your instrument work together to create healthy sound. I encourage my students to eat well and take care of themselves physically and emotionally. I also want my students to have fun by singing music that enspires them to be sincere with their emotions, singing for an audience can be scary but in a private lesson I encourage trying things out even if they seem silly.
