Let start from the ground up! With a beginner guitarist or bassist I want to both keep them excited about learning and teach the the fundamental necessary structure required to develop into a one of a kind musician. I use finger training and strengthening techniques to get the students physical ability in tip top shape, along with innovative chord ideas and mental understanding techniques. Most importantly by the end of every lesson even the first one I leave my students with a cool riff to play to show them that what they are learning is truly working, I believe this will keep students engaged in the learning and keep them working harder for the next lesson. Singing is one of the most vulnerable forms of art. I strive to create an environment where the student can communicate and express freely while finding their own voice. I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience into the lessons I teach. I'm a lover of all types of music and have worked with singers of all ages and genres ranging from classical to contemporary. My focus is placed on not just creating great singers, but smart singers who understand what healthy vocal production is. Read More

It can be any style they want, as long as its special to them. After I get a good sense of their instrument, I believe vocalizing with the student builds a an immediate rapport and instantly allows us to see where the voice naturally sits and where we can allow for healthy extensions. After I feel my students have progressed with fundamentals, I introduce solo material on a need basis. Read More

However, I tended to play everyones mom and grandmother because my voice sounded too mature and operatic. In my Freshman year of high school, I began voice lessons with my teacher and mentor, Paula Brown, who happened to be an Operatic Lyric Coloratura. Slowly, she began to introduce me to the fascinating, challenging and rewarding world of Classical Music and Opera and I washooked. Through high school, I studied with Paula until I was ready to continue my music in higher education. Read More
