I parlayed that into a full time business by my last semester of college during which I took on an abundance of private students in Rochester, NY and single handedly implemented the Cornerstone Academy's music program in Brockport, NY. When I returned to the tri-state area in August 2008 in the midst of the recession, I thought it would be in both my best interest, as well as the most effective way of strongly supporting and teaching a variety of budding musicians, to continue to expand and build my studio of private students. My style is closer to the Russian style than to the American style. This tends to involve more discipline, an emphasis on focus and concentration, and a more direct communicative approach. I don't usually mince words, although I am very supportive and gentle. My students seldom suffer self-confidence problems, because we are always too concerned with improving ourselves. We identify and focus on the task at hand. This is not for everyone, but for those that prefer this style, there is no substitute. Read More

I try to get to know the students as best as I can. I will ask them about their interests in music and outside of music. I also will learn what their weaknesses and strengths are and push them to improve all around. I have a pretty laid back style of teaching. My goal to encourage them, rather than make them feel bad or frustrated. I will simply tell them if they are sounding good, or I will tell them what they can do to sound better. Read More

I have a love for all kinds of music and look forward to teaching people that have the same. From country to rock, or whatever makes students want to pick up the instrument is what I'll use to teach them what they need and want to learn on the guitar. I always push students so they can reach their goals on the instrument. I will always give homework that will push them, but I make sure that I set a pace that they can handle. Read More

I believe music is a gift that unites people together bringing out our deepest emotions that words cannot express. At the age of 5 I received an organ and from that point on I embarked on a long life journey to indulge and learn more about music. In elementary, junior high and high school I was involved in any subject dealing with music. I joined school choirs, orchestras, bands, marching bands, jazz bands, musicals you name it. Read More

I began teaching trombone and bass after my first years of college at Cal State L.A. and went on to become a clinician and teacher in Los Angeles teaching trombone, bass, and percussion as well as working with musicians and conducting clinics around the U.S. and the world while touring and during my time as a cultural ambassador for the U.S. State Department. I now teach primarily from my home in Los Angeles and have had great success inspiring my students to progress. Read More

I have an interactive yet focused style of teaching. I can(but don't recommend) to use the Suzuki method. I feel that all aspects related to the instruments weigh much importance in teaching the student. However, with the Suzuki method, the student's primary focus is to learn pieces rapidly and climb the level of difficulty as fast as possible. This prevents him/her to fully understand and analyze the piece and lesson and it can also turn the student away from pursuing the instrument further. Read More
