Maya studied upright bass performance at Berklee College of Music, where she earned a Berklee Merit Scholarship and the Bass Department Outstanding Performer Award and Scholarship. She played with the Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra, with a highlight performance of Lord of the Rings Symphony at Bostons Symphony Hall. She tours nationally with Boston-based bummer pop band Future Teens. I'm a aspiring musician and educator living in the north Orange County area, in sunny California. I started playing music fairly late, at the age of 21. I took jazz lessons at my local community college. I eventually took up the double bass as well, and improved my skills enough to be in the jazz ensembles at my community college.
