I have advanced marching band/drumline experience, playing each different drum for multiple performances. I have performed in parades and football games, and competitively in settings like the Lucas Oil Stadium and Ross-Ade Stadium. Additionally, I am adept in concert/orchestral performance, having participated in large and small ensembles at Ball State University. I have also played for show choirs and broadway-style orchestra pits, giving me a wide range of abilities that are valuable to any musician. Read More

I began studying piano when I was 6 years old and developed a passion for music from a young age. I'm a graduate of the California Jazz Conservatory in Berkeley CA (B.M., 16) where my teachers included Benny Green, Peter Horvath and Art Lande. In 2011 I began teachingpiano and guitar lessons to children and adults in the San Fransisco Bay Area. In addition, I led andaccompanied workshops for vocalists and instrumentalists at the California Jazz Conservatory while performingextensivelythroughout the region in Jazz, Blues, Rock, RB and Pop groups. Then we will put sticks in your hands and learn technique, and finally introduce reading music. One step at a time is the best as to not overwhelm the student. Reading music is an essential element to my teaching style and is a huge advantage when learning an instrument. Read More

Here's what I've learned from teaching thousands of drum lessons. I know what the very next step is for every student. I know what is just barely out of reach for them, and that becomes their assignment (or assignments) for the week. I can easily and accurately asses what they are capable of and I expect that from them. That is why they have to do push-ups when they don't complete the tasks. Read More

In my teaching I make sure that my students never feel overwhelmed or confused by the material. I give them reasonable assignments based on their skill level and make sure to give them reasons for everything they are doing. I always try to help my students achieve little accomplishments in every lesson. I find this helps to prevent students from becoming discouraged or disengaged. I am always adjusting my lessons to fit the personality of the student I am working with. Read More

At the age of nine I began my interest in drums in particular. My father was a great pianist, choir director, teacher, vocal instructor, and all around musician. So growing up in this atmosphere has helped me through the years. I have been officially a drummer since I turned ten, and have continued to play in church, bands ( including my own) and for different events of different styles. Music is what I'm persuing as a career, along with teaching. Read More
