My methods vary depending on the level of the student. I heavily emphasize fundamentals with beginning students, and I try and make them understand the importance of the essectial rudiments and hand coordination before moving on to the drum set. With intermediate and advanced students I emphasize drum set, while still practicing the fundamentals. I hope to teach more advanced students to learn the confidence and skill to play with a band and learn how to approach songs from a musical, rather than simply technical, point of view. Read More

Hi!   I'm a professional drummer who loves to teach the tools of the trade to anyone interested and willing to learn.  My passion for music began at a very young age, and I started playing drums when I was 14.  I attended the one of the top rated music schools in the country, Berklee College of Music, and graduated with a degree in Drum Set Performance.  I've had the opportunity to travel overseas and share my work with huge audiences, in many different genres of music. Music has been a part of my life since I was four, when I started playing piano. Although it never became my primary focus, It gave me a foundation that has been invaluable in my percussion playing. I've been playing percussion since 2006 and drum set since 2008. As soon as I received my drum set for my 13th birthday, I knew that is what I wanted to do with my life. Read More

Being able to teach others and share my knowledge is what drives me, so I like to see progress. I have a goal-oriented approach that differs depending on the individual, but the results are always there. I love feeling the satisfaction of a student learning. Not to mention the relationships that are built and how much I learn from them in turn! It truly is a give and take relationship, just another individual sharing experience and knowledge. Read More

Teaching is a passion of mine. Getting to share experiences with my students is truly rewarding and I know it is something I will pursue for the rest of my life. My teaching style is enthusiastic and engaging. I beleive no single approach or method works for every student and having the ability to adapt is an essential skill for developing lasting student/teacher relationships. I accomplish this with each student by underlining expectations through short term, mid term, and long term goals. Read More

I started teaching music about 10 years ago, and Ive always enjoyed working with students. Ive performed professionally in several bands on multiple instruments in the past 10 years, and Ive also done a good bit of studio work from composition and recording, to producing, to mastering. I emphasize practice, having fun, and learning useful skills as the keys to success in music lessons. I do believe a good combination of modern music, classical music, and music theory is the best way to become a well-rounded musician and maximize enjoyment! Read More

My teaching does not cut corners. I often tell young students to watch the movie "Karate Kid" and play close attention to the "Wax on, wax off" scenes. (Fortunately, there are practice supplements using play along tracks that make this process more fun and less tedious). I not teach "songs", but I do teach the language of drumming and the language of music. I am an advanced reader and all of my students will be required to read at least some music, however I do understand that many students learn by ear. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
