My method of teaching involves a musically comprehensive approach. Through practice in rhythm, harmony, melody, theory and ear training, my players become well rounded musicians. The goal is to be able to have an intelligent musical conversation with your instrument, and to know how to play whatever you want to play. I got into teaching at a fairly young age, beginning my junior year in high school. I began teaching kids who were just getting into middle school band, as well as some of my peers. Although I never aspired to be a full-time teacher, I developed a strong passion for teaching there are few things I enjoy more than witnessing a student succeed. I studied music in middle school and high school through wind ensemble, jazz band, marching band, show choir, and private lessons. During this time I also attended music camps at McNally Smith and Berklee College of Music. I then moved to Nashville and graduated from Belmont University's School of Music. In Nashville, I have played with many independent artists across multiple genres as well as toured with bands across the country. Read More
