I emphasize the benefits music gifts us in regards to developing the brain as much as possible, while making music fun. No matter the style, the psychological benefits music offers are limitless. Giving the whole musical experience keeps people wanting to play and wanting to better themselves as individuals.Whether you want to learn your favorite pop song or a full Beethoven concerto, to anything inbetween, I will personally write a lesson plan for each individual student. I took private lessons from local teachers and worked with Larrie London, but was cut very short due to his passing. I married in 1989 in Nashville, and moved to Wisconsin in 1990 (my ex-wife was a native Wisconsinite). I'd love to get back on the teaching circuit and share the awesome talent God has given me. Relocating to Nashville in 2019, I was quickly joined to a touring band out of North Alabama named Johnny Collier and the Misbehaviators. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! I find it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More

For new learners I always start with an introduction to the instrument i.e. its makeup, terminologies, history etc . . . and printed material to help the student acheive an understanding of the fundamentals of the instrument. For Intermediate/Adult learners, I will get to know whath he/she is looking to learn or what area they want to grow in and plan the lessons accordingly. Read More

Hello! I am a 22-year-old drummer and graduate of Belmont University's School of Music. I've been playing drums for the last 12 years all while playing local shows, touring, and teaching others how to do the same thing. I'm originally from a small town in rural southern Minnesota where I was in the marching band, jazz bands, and choirs as well as playing in a touring band with my friends. While I lived in Minnesota I also attended music camps at McNally Smith and Berklee College of Music. Read More

My method of teaching involves a musically comprehensive approach. Through practice in rhythm, harmony, melody, theory and ear training, my players become well rounded musicians. The goal is to be able to have an intelligent musical conversation with your instrument, and to know how to play whatever you want to play. In my lessons reading sheet music is optional, but not required. I want my students to know that there is more to playing than just what's in the ink. Read More

My teaching does not cut corners. I often tell young students to watch the movie "Karate Kid" and play close attention to the "Wax on, wax off" scenes. (Fortunately, there are practice supplements using play along tracks that make this process more fun and less tedious). I not teach "songs", but I do teach the language of drumming and the language of music. I am an advanced reader and all of my students will be required to read at least some music, however I do understand that many students learn by ear. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
