My teaching experience dates back after my college years during the years of home private studying most musical instruments as I began teaching various instruments to group students at the christian churches. When some of my advanced students started to request private lessons, I founded College Music Lessons. I never have students who just can not understand their instruments. With almost 20 years of music education experience, I have developed a super fun and effective teaching method that has proven to work. I am a kid at heart and love working with children. And as the oldest child of 6, I possess the necessary patience and enthusiasm for their learning development. In addition, I have worked with many adult students who initially thought it was "too late" for them to learn an instrument. Read More

For me nothing is more rewarding than seeing a student smile while they are playing their instrument. Therefore it is important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I do this by setting goals for the current lesson as well as goals for their next lesson. I believe that acknowledging the students accomplishments only makes the students want to progress further on their instrument. My number one rule when doing anything is have fun and I teach with the mind set that my students will have fun playing their instruments. Read More

My approach is focused very much on performance, technicalities, and theory. I believe it is very important for the student to understand how these aspects of playing coincide with each other, and how they are equally essential to music playing. Before giving a student a piece of music to play, I will always play it befoehand and dissect the song into portions that I feel need special attention. I encourage playing with other musicians, and always try to teach the art ofimprovisation, so that the students can learn to play not only by themselves, but with other musicians, using the musicial understanding that it takes to improvise.
