I can say without hesitation that music is what permeates my soul in every aspect of my life. I have been playing drums since age 5 and played my first professional, paying show at age 16. I come from a large musical family with professional, working musicians and teachers, music has been center stage in my life for as long as I can remember. Then I can customize a lesson plan for them which includes warming up, techniques, and repertoire. I sometimes find it helpful to discuss of elements music theory, aural skills, and reading music depending on the students desires in those areas. I have been a teacher my whole life. In high school, I tutored Shotokan Karate classes, taught swimming lessons, tutored younger students, and taught drum lessons. In college, I was a peer tutor for writing, and continued to teach drum lessons. Since graduating, I have regularly taught drum lessons, and now instruct Kundalini Yoga/Meditation as well.
