I have been teaching privately for about four years. Most recently, I was awarded the Graduate Teaching Position at Bemont University for my final semester. I was in charge of weekly instruction for seven students, conducting both classical and commercial seminars, and leading Jazz Band and Small Group. Realistic goals are a encouraging so they don't lose confidence in starting toohard or working on something that is not hard enough. As they love what they are doing and how well they are succeeding, student often develop a wanting to put more and more work into their playing. I show encouragement for their accomplhments, yet also discipline to make sure they are on the correct path. I'm a licensed teacher that enjoys sharing my passion for music. In December 2016, I graduated from Lipscomb University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Instrumental Music Education. Performing as part of Cedar Creek Community Band, Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, and Orchestra Pit has given me a variety of experiences to inform my teaching. I am a passionate and experienced instructor who loves working with students of all ages and skill levels. I live in Nashville, TN and am available to teach flute and beginner piano lessons. I received my Masters in Music Performance from Northwestern University in 2021 studying flute under Professors John Thorne, Jennifer Gunn, and Alyce Johnson. I was a member of the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Chamber Orchestra during my time there, and I also participated in many chamber groups and worked as a Graduate Assistant to the Contemporary Music Ensemble.
