I have loved music ever since I was a child. I grew up in a musical family, and starting taking drum lessons when I was 7. I was luckily enough to know even as a child that music was what I wanted to spend my life doing. I attended a charter middle and high school in Western Massachusetts dedicated to the performing arts, which provided me with a lot of early experience playing music with other people and honing my craft. Music some say is "difficult" but I say it's a labor of love; if you really want to learn you will, and if you really don't, you find that out fast too! I love teaching, I love seeing you smile when you learn new things, and I like watching you progress. All of my students who I've taught in the school setting ALL achieved three levels higher than expected, in a shorter period of time. Read More

I teach kids with Frederick Noad's Guitar Solo Playing and also I adopt the guitar curriculum created by Austin Classical Guitar. Both methods provide several pieces that the kid plays with the teacher. I worked as a teacher assistant using the Austin Guitar Curriculum at Adams Elementary School (St Louis), and the results were great. Read More

I have been teaching guitar lessons for about three years both online and in person. I have taught people who were 7 years old to about 50 years old. I love discovering what works for each person and what each individual wants to accomplish by receiving lessons. I also like to expand their goals to new possibilities. I like to engage students with music they already know while also presenting music to them that can help improve their skills, and they might also find enjoyable. Read More

Teaching is a major component of my musical life. I enjoy teaching students, rejoice at their progress, and am always on the lookout for new pedagogical approaches. Therefore, a teacher must have energy and enthusiasm to build rapport with students. My approach to teaching balances personal understanding of the student’s needs and goals, a strict approach to technique, and an artistic approach to music-making. As a teacher, I encourage students to search for creative solutions and artistic principles that are relevant to their musicianship. Read More

I love seeing my students become as passionate about music as I am! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. It's important for each student to have just the right amount of material to work on each week, so that they are progressing without feeling overwhelmed. I also make sure to acknowledge the work that might students put in, and encourage them to feel proud of what they accomplish. Read More
