After graduating from school, I focused on teaching children how to read sheet music and play the piano and guitar within parochial schools, public elementary schools, private in-home lessons, and instructed adults for the Continuing Education Music Programs located within Rockland County, New York and Orange County, California.Today, I teach privately in my students homes and my home music studio, and privileged to share music with special education students on a weekly basis. I want my students to not only have a working knowledge of music, but also a passion and love for it. One of the beauties of music is that it stays with you for a lifetime. I will encourage and guide my students to the best of my ability, by setting realistic goals and inspiring them to keep progressing in their musicianship. Read More

I offer a truly bespoke approach to each student, because all students are different, and your lessons should be tailored and unique to you. My personal training in voice was a very one-size-fits-all approach--if I couldn't do something in a certain way that my instructors wanted, I would often disappoint them, or continue to run up against a brick wall in my progress. My approach with my own students is the opposite--I provide my students options in order to achieve something vocally or technically, rather than having only one option. Read More

I am very flexible with my teaching methods and put together the best style matching the student's learning strengths. Furthermore, I update and change my methods if I feel the current method is becoming ineffective. I keep my lessons interactive with the student because the time is for the student to retrieve as much information as he/she can regarding their instrument and they can build a stronger week of preparation heading into the next lesson. Currently my most used methods are teaching via classical, pop & jazz, and Suzuki methods. Read More

I'm a firm believer that things like "theory" will be appreciated over time and when students have come to actually realize its importance and significance once they have reached a certain skill level. Finally, It's also important for me to know my students music tastes and influences in order to carefully lay out a lesson plan in the hopes of getting them to where they want to be in the most efficient way. I work to determine how best you learn, and then we move in your direction. I am left-handed and have learned to accommodate as well as individuate. My idea about life is that anything a person wants to learn CAN be taught. What is required? A deep desire and patience. But there is nothing as exciting as playing an instrument! Or learning to sing, and feeling the power that comes when you express yourself. Read More

I am a classical trained musician. I was brought up in Bloomington Indiana, the home of the no.1 rated music school in the States (by the teacher's association). Ever since I was 10, I was involved with the University music life. I had the fortune to study with Janos Starker - perhaps the greatest cello technician in the world! His playing style is comfortable, clean, natural, and free of tension problems. Read More
