I started teaching guitar lessons in my hometown when I was 16 years old and was teaching at local music stores when I was 18. After graduating from Musicians Institute, I taught in-home private lessons in Los Angeles. I consistently had a full teaching schedule and gained a lot of experience through teaching students of all ages and skill levels. One of my main goals is to make sure my students are having fun while learning as I believe this is key to maintaining an interest in music and motivation to practice. Read More

One of the greatest joys of teachingis to see that lightbulb go on when my students really start to pick things up and the excitement they getin seeing and hearing their own musical growth! I like to have my students set realistic goals for themselves which help to inspire them when they meet a goal with flying colors! I always explore different methods that might fit the age and personality of the student but for keyboard lessons I have found success with the Alfred Piano Method. Instrumental lessons usually follow the method book that is selected by their school band director. Beyond that I have a large library of supplementary music to expand the students interest with new styles and composers.I'm very flexible with the method books and after I get to know the student I can select a method that would work the best for instruction. By High School, I had already formed three bands, and composed & recorded a solo album on my own. In 2013, I started my music degree at the University of Colorado Denver, and graduated in 2018. I’ve learned many different instruments since I got involved in music, but guitar is my main instrument. However, what I find most gratifying about music is the combination of multiple instruments together, forming an arrangement. Although my goal is to let you lead the way as far as what you’d like to know, I believe that understanding how your instrument can be placed into the larger picture is a key aspect to learning music, and very enjoyable. I am somewhat lenient with my teaching style. I always give every student work to practice and improve upon for their next lesson. However, I am a firm believer that keeping a student's interest in music is best accomplished by allowing them to move at their own pace. I always want my students to be inspired and productive, and I also believe that a student should never feel forced into practicing their craft. Read More
