"The art of teaching is the Art of assisting discovery" - Mark Van Doren My teaching method is always geared towards to my students goals. I know that the best teacher is able to identify what exactly needs to be paid attention to in your playing to take you to the next level. With these ideas in mind, the lesson are built from a combination of what the final goals are, and what needs to be developed to get there. Read More

I'm mostly new to teaching! Part of my job with Green Line Records was to teach members how to record and mix music. Watching people develop these skills and work toward their musical goals was the most fulfilling part of this experience. I was able to really explore my passion for music and make connections with other people who love music, and I'm looking to start teaching guitar and bass with those same goals in mind. Read More

I want my students to have fun and be able to be inspired to learn and create. I know that everyone learns their way and I do believe myself accommodating and understanding. Learning to read, write, and play music is essentially learning another language and having taught languages for several years, I know people move at different paces. I encourage my students to maintain a detailed practice log, and to explore and create during daily practices whilst also working towards goals established during our sessions. Read More

It is very important that lessons be fun as well as informative, and as soon as I am able, I like to develop musical, and technical skills within the context of real music, that the student enjoys. Of course for absolute beginners, we have to develop certain skills before we are able to do this but it is important to me, that any student always has material that they enjoy practicing, and that the learning process is never too abstract or needlessly sterile. I am a goal setter and overachiever so I like to work with the student to set goals that will not be discouraging. I believe that learning how to play an instrument/sing with others in an ensemble setting helps reinforce what we work on in the lesson. As a multi-instrumentalist, I enjoy finding songs we can eventually play together while implementing technique and structure. I’ve done everything from covers, to song writing, to singing operatic repertoire in 5 different languages. Read More

In 2004, I graduated from Berklee College of Music as a guitar principal with Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Composition. Since then, I have been playing and teaching music full-time. I have played in various rock bands including my own original band, Kave Kraft, and as a sideman in various jazz combos, RB groups, and wedding/GB bands in the Boston area. Read More
